Burn Bright gets lots of lovely mail from readers but occasionally one will stand out and totally make our day. Kudos to Terrie for having a passion for books and literature and wanting to nurture it in others.  With her permission we’re sharing it:

Dear Marianne,

I am writing today to ask if you would consider sending me a review copy of Burn Bright. As you know, your novel has created quite a stir in the U.S.

A little about me … I am currently a long-term substitute teacher and also pursuing my single subject English credential. I plan to apply for Teach for America corps next year. I believe that kids need to have passion for reading, but as you know sometimes it takes the right book and genre to do it.

I make it a regular habit to recommend excellent YA fiction books and authors to the kids. The kids in my class have actually asked for this book … in particular. Even if it is only 1 copy that I loan out, it is obviously something the kids and myself are both excited about. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Terrie Bissonnette

Hey Everyone, there’s a give-away going on at the Burn Bright Facebook Page. To celebrate the fact that we reached 800 Likes, we’re giving away some of Belinda’s gorgeous costume jewellery.

So head on over there to be in it. Already we’ve had some great entries, including Ruby Replogle’s poem for Burn Bright:

Sinister Parties, Wild Dreams.
Nothing is ever as it seems.
Deadly Pleasures, Wild Secrets.
Gorgeous girls in tight corsets.
Evil Creatures, Mortal Combat.
Burn Bright, Baby Bats!

As we mentioned a while back, Burn Bright is being published in Turkey.

Well the book has now been released and here’s the cover. You can also visit the publisher’s Facebook page (the publisher is called Dex) and see the fabulous book trailer they’ve put together for the release. It’s not on YouTube yet but when it is we’ll linky link.

IMT, whoop whoop!!

We’re making enquires about ordering this edition online because we know some of you want to collect the translations as well. Stay posted for an update.

We’re loving this brand new review of Yunyu’s song, Angel Arias and Marianne’s book Burn Bright:

Angel Arias + Burn Bright (book) = Pure Brilliance

by Firelighter18

I can’t rave more about this song if you’ve never heard of Yunyu I would recommend buying this song as it gives you a fantastic taste of what Yunyu has to offer in her music. If this is your first time hearing her I would also suggest buying Lenore’s Song and You Are Expendable both are simply excellent!

This song perfectly captures the book Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres I would recommend to you the novel as well it’s very dark, strange and gothic but a magnificence story to read with strong character’s and an amazing world that is unforgettable and it’s by far my favourite series to read. ; )

BUY the song from iTunes
